Ayu Emergency Project

The Ayu Emergency Care Project is an innovative initiative addressing the critical gap in emergency care within the Ayurveda system.

The Ayu Emergency Care Project is an innovative initiative addressing the critical gap in emergency care within the Ayurveda system. Inspired by the vision of the late Padma Shri Dr. P. R. Krishna Kumar Ji, the project focuses on empowering AYUSH practitioners to contribute effectively to emergency situations. The project is envisioned by Dr Maël Voegeli under International Cooperative of Universities-India with PPHS Foundation and CASIRA. The project aims to achieve three key objectives:

  • Skill Enhancement for AYUSH Practitioners:

The project provides specialized training to equip AYUSH practitioners with essential emergency care skills, bridging the gap between traditional and modern healthcare systems to save lives.

  • Evidence-Driven Implementation:

By refining AYUSH guidelines in emergency care through an evidence-based approach, the project strengthens the credibility of Ayurvedic therapies and fosters collaboration with mainstream healthcare.

  • Promotion of Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

The initiative promotes a network of professionals from diverse medical systems, encouraging collaboration and mutual understanding for the benefit of patients and global healthcare.

The Ayu Emergency Yathra, a core activity of the project, covered over 5000 km in 21 days, facilitating discussions with more than 1000 doctors. Key outcomes include the documentation of clinical cases, development of emergency care protocols, and creation of training syllabi for AYUSH professionals working in critical care settings.

The project is a transformative effort, enhancing Ayurveda’s role in emergency care and promoting global collaboration in healthcare.
